"Weight has been a burden for 20 years," Gary explains. "The older I became, the more I gained unwanted weight." Gary tried various products and programs to help him in his efforts to manage his weight, but he was never able to make lasting change. Finding Strength and Support
The TeleMOVE! Telehealth option of care allowed Gary to take advantage of all MOVE! had to offer from the comfort of his home. He discovered that MOVE! was different from the other weight loss programs he had tried in the past. Rather than being on a strict diet, Gary worked toward his weight management goals by making small changes to his eating and physical activity habits. "Daily weighing and reporting was key," he explains. Choosing what sorts of foods and beverages he consumed and recording his progress was essential. Gary also explains that the support and encouragement he received from his wife and his MOVE! team helped him stay focused and motivated.
The Benefits of Better Health
Since starting MOVE! Gary is doing more exercise and doing it more frequently. He says he feels more energetic in general, and that it feels much easier now to stick to his plan than when he first started. Enjoying the benefits of his weight management efforts, including losing more than 50 pounds and managing his diabetes better, Gary is inspired to maintain his new, healthy lifestyle and is looking forward to being able to reduce his medications.
