Choosing Better Health for Himself
Having witnessed the positive impact of losing weight, Frank Vozak knew that when it was time to make a change and improve his own health, he’d have the support of the MOVE! team at the Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital in Hines, IL.
Deciding to MOVE
After serving in the Army, Frank then dedicated 44 years to helping fellow Veterans as a VA social worker. During this time he became familiar with the MOVE! Weight Management Program for Veterans and the profound accomplishments of Veterans who participated in MOVE!. When it was time for Frank to make changes, he knew the MOVE! team would be there to support him. Through losing weight and adjusting his lifestyle, Frank resolved to improve his health and prevent the progression of liver disease, which had contributed to his father’s death.
MOVE! teaches you how to live your life in a healthy fashion and helps you build on every success.

Building a Solid Foundation
"MOVE! is a highly educational and supportive environment," Frank explains. He further shares that MOVE! offers a way to see your life differently and make choices that will improve your health and life in general. Through MOVE!, Frank learned strategies to support adding healthy habits into his daily routine. Among these were paying close attention to nutritional information for foods, choosing healthier options when dining out, and prioritizing sleep. These behavior changes helped him lose roughly 30 pounds. Later, Frank added weight loss medication to his regimen and has since lost a total of 60 pounds altogether! He has continued to participate in MOVE! groups throughout his journey and benefited from the support of his MOVE! team and others. Frank has remained motivated, engaged, and committed for the long term.
Enjoying the Benefits of Better Health
In addition to losing weight with the support of MOVE!, Frank has experienced a host of health benefits including less knee pain, better sleep, and lower blood pressure. All of these benefits have resulted in being able to fit into nicer clothing he had purchased at a lighter weight and increased motivation to feel even healthier yet! Frank says that he keeps learning new skills participating in MOVE! and he plans to stick with it "until they kick me out!"
